Pino Paladino (usually plays with Eric Clapton and D'Angelo..)

Beat me to the punch. He's been a first-call kinda player for many moons if I recall correctly.

There just aren't enough superlatives available to relate how important and influential The Who have been to pop music. Truly one of the foundation bands of modern rock-n-roll to say the least. I got to see Entwhistle in OKC in '98 when he was touring with his own band. Some friends of mine that I ran FOH for on occasion got tapped as a support act so I schlepped some gear for them and went to the show. Watching Entwhistle play in a fairly up close and personal manner was nothing short of stunning.

Simon Phillips has been touring with Toto.

Godfrey Townsend (Entwistle's last guitarist) has just released his first solo CD.. Godfrey currently plays with Alan Parsons on his live show as well...

Godfrey Townsend Demo's

Pretty cool stuff in the Satriani vein....

(And we know, he's NOT related to Pete and Simon....:p )

Huge Who fan here...saw `em on the `82 Farewell Tour in Seattle with The Clash opening, and two nights later in Portland, then finally in `00 at the Gorge Ampitheatre in George, Wa. We were going to see them last Nov. in Palm Springs when we were in Pomona for the Finals, but tickets were outrageous. Moon and Entwistle can never really be replaced, but as long as Daltrey and Townshend are up front, they`ll always be The Who imo. I picked up the their new Wire and Glass CD that got rave reviews, but I must be missing something because I didn`t think it was very good. There`s a bonus live DVD accompanying it, and Roger sounds awful. However I recently bought a DVD of their final `82 show in Toronto when Kenney Jones was on drums and it flat out rocks! Goes great with the remastered Kids Are Alright DVD that came out a few years ago. Hard to watch Keith go from a good looking young kid to an overweight, burned out rock star right before your eyes when watching that film.

Hey Martin, speaking of Alan Parsons, What A GREAT GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Him & his wife Lisa are just the nicest people. We had a conversation over dinner one time, there was about 10 of us, regarding the sitcom Green Acres and the pig, he's from England and of course never heard of it, so I was closest and explained the whole concept to him.

We had a Blast that night, looking forward to seeing him at a trade show sometime in the future.

When the web site is completely up and running, I'll make sure the picture of us goes on there from a trade show back a couple of years ago.

I've always liked Alan Parsons, have like 5 of his CD's (I Robot and Turn of a Friendly Card My Favs!). But the One time I did get a chance to see him in Concert around 90-91 I was Very Disappointed! Eric Woolfson had left the band, and the New Singer he had didn't sound the same at all. Plus they played songs I didn't recognize whatsoever.

A Californian friend, an ardent Who fan recently saw them in concert at the Long Beach Arena.

With only Pete & Roger left from the original group but with:
John "Rabbit" Bundrick - Keyboards
Zak Starkey - Drums
John Townshend - Rhythm Guitar
Pino Paladino - Bass Guitar
he said it was a great show, much better than he expected.

Joe... The Ninties weren't very good for Alan (his words..) Eric had left the band, the singer at the time was not committed to the group and the band was unsure of its future.

The current lineup of musicians are younger than Alan, but far from young. Schooled musicians (formally as well as from working experience), and all fans of Alan Parsons from THE RECORDS (that's key) means that there is very little left to interpretation from the musicians- they play true to the original music. Each band member sings at least one song, allowing for the variety of vocalists that The Project originally was built upon, and the main front man, PJ Olsson, covers the bases perfectly for the songs like Time and Old & Wise (classically trained voice that really nails the high notes..)..

The show usually has 2-3 songs from the new CD (A Valid Path), and the rest of the two hour (!!) show is a great history of the hits and the songs you know but weren't singles.

We're kind of spoiled- the early 90s tour kind of burnt out Alan from playing, but his wife Lisa is very creative, getting our tours to some excellent places (Moscow, Bogata, Malta) where the fan base is huge, but most of the audience has never seen APLP before. There is tallk of a short US tour mid summer...if we get to your area, give the new band a chance. I will promise you- you won't be dissapointed

And now, back to THE WHO......

OK. HUGH WHO fan here. Sadly, I was born in '68 and never made it to a show while Moon was alive. But there are many (more every couple months) DVDs being remastered from all kinds of previously unviewed shows.

My brother and I swore we wouldn't see the band again after Entwistle died. But our uncle was turning 50 and the band was playing that day in Chicago. How could we say no to the guy that gave us Quadrophenia for Christmas! Changed how I measured rock bands forever. The show was really missing something w/o JE. As a matter of fact Zack Starkey was the only thing that saved the show for me. Keith Moon taught this guy how to play...not Ringo. He has been touring w/ the band for a few years now, and is by far the best they've had since Moon.

I'm pretty sure it was Pete's brother Simon Townsend on guitar. He has been touring w/ them as a back-up singer since the Tommy anniversary shows in '89.
