Maybe I`m the last one to discover this, never seen it posted though.
Seems fitting for this weekend. Never knew they did this with tracks.
Click arrow to make a virtual pass , watch out for the track crew. :)

The last time I looked at Sonoma, it's the same deal, and you actually see the Google map cars racing each other lol ......guess no one is immune

Yup. They've removed it. I had seen it perhaps a year ago. You could go down the entire drag strip, then through the shutdown and continue the remaining part of the sports car course all the way around to the start/finish straight. Might be a premium Google Maps charges facilities that wasn't continued by Sonoma. There's still areas around the track you can use it, like the winner's circle, or around some of the grandstands. Easiest way to see them is once you have the track in view, you click and hold the little gold guy that signifies street view (located on the left of the map on top of the slider that zooms in/out). Once you drag that guy onto the map (keep holding him) all the available places to put him are revealed, then just release him anywhere along the blue lines or dots for extra photos or views from that area of the map.

Very cool! You can also make a lap on the oval and drive down pit road. Occasionally there is a pace car and a stock car from the Richard Petty Experience.
