The Revell Story

Good story. Like many here I'm sure, I spent countless hours building drag race models. Such a great era. Would be cool if schools across America started having model building contests, it could get kids away from technology for a bit, get them using their hands and also discover cars.

built them too. in fact i have a recent one still in the box i got as a gift about 5 years ago. the chi-town-hustler dodge charger.
it might even be revell? i'll have to look ....... great article.

I built a GL Rupp TF ( Pat Dakin ) car from I don't remember what kit it originally was.
I loved the Black and Red paint on that car.

Built many of their models over the years. Great quality and always was a fun hobby for this car guy. Thanks for posting the story, enjoyed it

Martin and Tony, thank you. I feel better about myself after seeing your pics. Nice to know I'm not the only addict who collects these things... As a kid, I was super intense when building a new model. My bedroom became my race shop. I did my spray painting in the basement. Great memories!

Good times. I use to build quite a bit until I started working on the real ones in the early 90's. I've been collecting since then with the hopes of building again once this drag racing crew guy door closes.
