If I remember right, it was like $15 or $20 for the race which was Sunday only. I think they did Houston as well but I might be mistaken. My local cable operator didn’t offer it but Directv did.

$9.95
They also did the 1995 Winston Select Finals Saturday and Sunday. I don't remember the entire schedule but I also have 1996 Atlanta, 1997 Richmond, and 1997 Columbus. I know they did 1997 Houston also.

I remember going to a theater to watch the NHRA World Finals at Tulsa with my dad in the 1960's. That might qualify as the first NHRA pay per view.

MAN ... that brings back memories that I haven't thought about in YEARS. My Dad used to take me to the Showcase Cinemas on Bardstown Road in Louisville, KY for some pretty big PPVs, or as they called it back in the 80s, "Closed Circuit TV". I saw Hagler - Hearns, Leonard - Hearns, and Wrestlemania 1 and 2. Wrestlemania 3 was so big, it was shown at the Louisville Gardens on huge screens at very low resolution LOL. But we had a great time anyway. I wanna say the first PPV we had at home was Tyson - Spinks as cable TV had really become a thing by then (1988).

I know this really has nothing to do with the thread, but it triggered a memory and also how impossible this would be to explain to a kid today, who are so used to clicking one button on their phone to get whatever they want. Funny.
