That sucks. Used to go to that track a lot before LV was built. Might just have to go to that final race

Dang. That’s some bad news. I’m glad my wife and I made the trip this year for the Arizona Nationals. It was our first time there. We had a great time and got to see some amazing racing.

I might be in denial but I don't believe it....

And please don't present me with facts, I would rather be in denial.....

I agree. There are very few people besides you that have a longer/deeper connection with the track. As hard as this is/will be for someone like me who has literally spent half his life going to Firebird I can't imagine what you are feeling.

Let's see...E-Town, Atlanta, PBIR, Memphis, Houston, Chicago, now Firebird..........Buehler, Buehler, Buehler...

There's a politician ( Mark Kelly ?) running for office in AZ . He has been putting out stuff on TV patting himself on the back for bringing in Federal $$$$ to expand I -10

what would Tuscon need to get an event?

Chicago is back on the Lucas schedule this year and hopefully it will replace losing Houston next year. Isn't the Memphis track still there and being used? I think it's IHRA sanctioned, but I am sure a deal could be made if the desire to add a track is there.

Not that it’s a replacement for Wild Horse but National Trails has made a lot of improvements. They now have nice grandstands all the way down the pit side and are in the process of putting new stands down the spectator side.

The spectator stands were in bad shape when I started going there in the late 70’s. Way overdue but they have done a great job of bringing it back up to a top notch facility.

I would say with all the extra seating they must expect some big spectator events to be held there.

It's a sin to have Chicago sitting there without a national event.

Milan ,Mi track is back open with a new owner but it would need a lot of work.

Fingers are crossed that it returns next year with a national event. I like a 30 minute drive to the track vs. 3hrs to Indy and 4hrs to St. Louis.

Could US 131 in Michigan handle a national event crowd or is it too small?
