After taking a few weeks off, Marty Thacker and the Rapid Transit Race Team are excited to get back out there and show what the Knoll Gas - Torco Racing Fuels blown alcohol dragster can do. In their last NHRA event about a month ago, they had a strong showing but were unfortunately unable to make the call in the semi-finals. After that, the Team headed to the National City Thunder Nationals in Martin, Michigan where they picked up their first win of the season.
“We took the couple weeks off to recover from major parts losses at the Atlanta event and to find the problem. We believe we have found and eliminated our issue, so we are ready to put the gloves back on. If we're going to make a run at the championships this year, we need to start making our move now. The Team is rested and ready to go out there and show everyone just what we are capable of doing,” said Thacker.
“We have all the tools necessary to win. We have a lot of great support behind this Team with Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels, Hoosier Tires, Lucas Oil and Fatheadz. And my crew is one of the hardest working out there. Before the break, we had been the fastest blown car at the last 2 national events and in Michigan we were the number one qualifier. All that we need to do is put it all together and hopefully good things will happen.”
The event will begin on Friday with qualifying at 3 PM and 6:15 PM. On Saturday, they will receive one more shot at 10:15 AM before first round of eliminations at 3:30 PM. Eliminations continue on Sunday following the pro session. For up to date coverage of the event please log onto Drag Race Central | Presented by Summitracing.com 1-800-230-3030.
