Team Transit Mix Sets the New WCHRA E.T. Record at 6.333

The Team Transit Mix Cavalier of Prostreet Champion Steve Paulauskis tuned by Kelly Bluebaugh of WFO Racing and Machine with Team WFO set an outrageous new Prostreet record of 6.333 @ 221.78 mph this past weekend in Bakersfield. The record was backed during the exciting final round of the make up race of the West Coast Hot Rod Associations (WCHRA), Team Transit Mix-Spring Nationals, which was rained out after one round of qualifying earlier this year. It was a long wait of anticipation for Paulauskis, Bluebaugh, and the Team to return to Bakersfield to back the record after the rainout. Bluebaugh said the weather conditions earlier in the year were just simply better and it was tough to try and back the record in the summer heat. In addition to setting a stout record, the Team Transit Mix Cavalier took the win for the make up of the Spring Nationals and the win for the concurrently scheduled WCHRA Team Racing Enterprises Midsummer Shootout, which ran at the Famoso Dragway, July 13-14, 2007. It was a fantastic double-header weekend for Team Transit Mix Sponsor Tom Nelson, Paulauskis and Team WFO as the Cavalier worked through rounds with precision. Paulauskis, Bluebaugh and the team are grateful to Nelson and Team Transit Mix who have made this season possible through commitment to Team WFO and to all the racers in the WCHRA. Following the race, spectators debated whether or not this is the nations quickest E.T. record run at full weight for a Prostreet Car. All agreed that if not, Team WFO has been amazingly consistent and has been actively setting new West Coast standards since its arrival last season.

In the final round of the Team Transit Mix Spring Nationals make up, Paulauskis and the team faced Monte Berney in his new blown alcohol 55 Chevy who is expected to be a strong contender in the WCHRA. The race appeared close from the starting line position with Berney taking a slight starting line advantage. Paulauskis was quick to run down the 55 Chevy with a 6.392 @ 220.42 to Berney’s 6.742 @ 212.51. The following evening, the scheduled Team Racing Enterprises Midsummer Shootout started with a bye run for Team WFO. Paulauskis shut the Team Transit Mix Cavalier off at 5.7 seconds into the run cruising to a 6.434 @ 204.68, which was good enough for lane choice. In round two, Paulauskis ran another short pass of 6.414 @ 213.77 and caught the win over Art Hodges who fouled with a red light start. In round three, Paulauskis staged up against Giuseppe in his turbo Mustang winning the round with a 6.402 @ 219.83 after the Mustang lost traction mid track. In the final round, the Team Transit mix Cavalier was awarded the win for the WCHRA Midsummer Shootout after Randy Walker of Walker Automotive was unable to make the call. Paulauskis stated following that the whole WFO crew has just really come together to make consistent wins for the Team Transit Mix Cavalier. Team WFO agreed that it has almost been surreal that the car runs as well as it does pass after pass. Plans are still in the works to make the 2007 Real World Street Nationals in Orlando and the team will continue with the WCHRA for the remainder of the season.

WFO Racing and Machine would like to thank Tom Nelson, Team Racing Enterprises, and Team Transit Mix for their sponsorship and support, and for what they give to all the racers in the WCHRA
