I wonder what makes Bob think that the performance is all of a sudden going to change by releasing Cunningham and moving Denner to solo crew chief? They've been co-crew chiefs on the car since pretty much the beginning, so I guess I don't really get that move. IMO, he should clean house at the crew chief level and go out there and find a fresh set of eyes.

I like Bob, but his car could definitely qualify as the poster child for inconsistency over the past several years!

No surprise there was a change. I respect Bob a lot for being loyal to his guys for so long. Most would have sent them packing a long time ago. On the other hand, how long can you go on not being in the hunt week in and week out. It's a tough choice. Maybe Mark Denner has his own ideas on how to run things, and with Okuhara' s help can get that car turned around.

wonder if rob w(sp?) is available to help? (guy who wuz with shelor motor mile team)....also give bob credit for loyalty.
hope he can turn his program around.

tasca's fuel career has been disappointing for sure . im sure he feels frustrated. so who is out there and unemployed??? someone who can turn things around?? lee beard, Austin coil, tim and kim , oh, that's right they are all retired...... so who has the chops to get bob into the top of the pack ?? just askin

I agree Barry, I don't think there's much (if any) quality crew chief material that is unemployed right now that would move Bob up the ladder quickly. I think it's more a matter of Bob putting his money where his desire is and trying to lure a quality crew chief away from another team. Can he do it, I don't know, but I think that's what he's going to have to do to get a top tier crew chief. JMO of course!

Bob Tasca did have a great crew chief, Dickie Venables a few years ago but dumped him and kept Cunningham. Bob is a super enthusiastic type A person. I think his program would have worked out better with Venables. But that's just my 2 cents worth.

I agree Bob, but I think there were issues with the fact that Dickie was still with Force at the time, and the NHRA categorized that as being a team car, so that was the reason that Tasca gave it up. At least that's what I remembered about the situation. I may be wrong though?

Bob posted on Facebook yesterday....."We're off to Atlanta with a new crew chief and determination to get this season back on track". We'll just have to wait and see how that works out for him!
