Norwalk, Ohio (March 4, 2008) -- Ticket sales for the 2nd Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals June 26-29 have been very strong, forcing Summit Motorsports Park management to change to a reserved seating format.
In an announcement today track officials said there will only be reserved seating tickets and standing room only tickets for the event. General admission tickets will not be sold.
Ticket sales are 30% ahead of last year through the end of February, 2008 and track officials are looking at a possible sell-out in the second year of the race. In fact, the track set an all-time record for ticket sales in February.
"We have an obligation to our fans," said Bill Bader, Jr., president of Summit Motorsports Park. "We want everyone coming to the race knowing they’ll have an assigned seat. It isn't a good experience for someone to come to the race and have to wrestle to find a place to sit down, especially if you're with a group of friends or your family."
"Many of the popular sections at the NHRA race are already filled for Saturday and Sunday," continued Bader. "We will still have standing room only tickets for fans that prefer to stand at the fence, too. Everyone who has already purchased a general admission ticket will receive a letter soon with their options, and anyone with questions can call us at the track office."
"Please, if you are planning on attending this race, come to the website and buy your tickets soon. When you buy tickets you can look online to find open seats but you'll see many of the stands near the starting line are either full or close to it and we don’t want to disappoint anyone who hasn’t yet bought their tickets."
With this announcement Summit Motorsports Park becomes one of an elite handful of NHRA tracks that only have reserved seating.
Fans can buy tickets online at SummitMotorsportsPark.com or by calling the track at (419) 668-5555.
