i just lost 12 hours of vacaction last week due to improper planning
on behalf of the airline (missed a connecting flight) - during our downtime,
we were able to unboard the plane - went to ticket agent, she was
right in front of the airline computer - she informed us that it might be
faster to call their 1-800 reservation line to try to rebook on another airline
to get to our destination the same day. Fortunately we did rebook with
another airline (at the expense of our original) and made our destination
12 hours late - there was a couple on our original flight that was not able
to rebook and ended up 24 hours late to same destination as us.
The thing that irritates me is I can spend a week calculating every last detail
of an itinerary - then the whole deal is messed up due to the incompetancy
of an airline.
