steelers get rid of duce staley

looks like he'll have a lot of time to plan for catch 22 motorsports. all the guy did here in pittsburgh was collect a paycheck and stand on the sidelines in sweats. he was always hurt and reported to camp this year terribly out of shape. he never made it out of cowher's doghouse and now finds himself without a job.

Will this affect his ability to field the Pro Stock team next year? Isn't Jim Yates connected to Staley's team in some manner? I don't recall if they had sponsorship dollars lined up or not...

i never heard them formally announce having a major sponsor. the writing has been on the wall here for duce since training camp, which is well before the announcement of the new team was made. he barely made it on the roster after camp and i think that was only because they were hoping his veteran status would soften the blow of losing the bus. all the sports writers around here have been predicting this since week 1 and its finally happened. the guy didn't play a down this year and hardly played at all in the 3 years that he's been here.
