seems important, as the fans are probably telling nhra they want to be entertained on a saturday, even though they are not really racing.

Historically, Sunday events of any kind tend to sell less than Saturday, regardless of the time of year. Yes, this time of year we have football, but people can be very good at multi-tasking their sports. They can follow a game and still watch the action on the track.
I think that Sunday at NHRA drags should be the same price or even less than Saturday, to encourage Sunday attendance.

People have to be told there is a race to see. They can't be expected to just find out on their own. I think this is a big reason attendance is low at other tracks - particularly NHRA owned tracks. They do almost no advertising. And we see the unfortunate results.

We were their in 2023 and it was sold out in 90 degree weather, pretty sure it was last year too. What you describe is how they got their inaugural Enjoy Illinois 300 Nascar cup race in 2021 which I attended.

Millican popped another blower in q3 at the finish line. Car dropped a cylinder and they legged it out and it blew. Looked relatively minor, but they had the car completely torn down in the pits and didn’t make Q4. Poop.

When they announce that the event is sold out like they did today does that mean that people actually get turned away ?

The other comments on attendance are great but if anyone knows if people that show up are actually denied admission please let me know. Thanks
