I'm not kicking the guy while he is down, he is ill, and that sucks, and ultimately his health means more than anything. I'm sure if his business falters, he has taken care of himself financially, and he can worry about healing, not business. Let's face it, without his health, he has nothing.
I won't get involved in who owes who what, because I don't know anything. The guess at who's plane is being repo-ed is based on info that others posted before me, and it seems pretty obvious who everyone is talking about.

He didn't own a plane ,that was a "rent-a-jet" that he took to the races. The "N" tail number was checked out by another race team that owns their planes.
There were many "stories" going around this weekend at the "Rock" , more people that just Clay's team got "gassed" at the same time.
Some people are also holding bad checks, and a few racers are still waiting for the rest of last years payment.
I wonder how much longer JR's car keeps getting funded by Mr.Lucas?

I would think that the only reason JR's car is still on the track is because Lucas was the only team to have a guaranteed contract with Torco.

'Course the real question isn't whether or not somebody's jet, that they didn't own in the first place, got repo'ed. The REAL question is how long will it be before someone is facing a Federal Indictment for tax law violations?
When you write a worthless check to someone and never make the check good AND 1099 them for it anyway, that's a really big NO-NO in the eyes of the IRS. There's lots of assistant US Attorneys who would love to have a case involving a "big fish".

Amazing? To see what? A discussion about a guy who left many people hanging....and hanging on to bad checks and unpaid debt? We don't KNOW that he's undergoing any treatment....We only know he SAYS he is. He also said all his bills were paid and he didn't owe anybody any money. Lots of guys out there that would tell you point blank that that's untrue. Gotta take it all with a grain of salt.

One of the latest "rumors" is that the auditors now working in MI. are looking at federal fuel taxes, something about the way tax rebates were claimed ? An another "rumor" is that the reason the money stopped so quickly was due to an expected federal rebate check that was stopped.

Even if they never come back, they gave a lot of people a lot of oppurtunities for a few years. I don't think anyone could look at that situation objectively and think that river of money could flow forever. It just sucks that so many people got parked.
I do hope they come back, they do seem to have a genuine passion for the sport which not many other sponsors do. And if they come back, I am sure there will be a line of racers around the block to take their money ... history be dammed.

Evan and Torco had leased a Cessna Citation X in partnership with a real estate developer for a while and when the lease was up they decided to buy a similar Citation X. I know a few months back it was being serviced by Cessna in Toledo and Evans pilot looked like Paul Teutel from Orange County Choppers! (no joke). Maybe the repo being mentioned is the lease return maybe?
