With Rocky Boots going over to DSR, is it a poaching job by the Don or is it just a sponsor wanting more exposer? what's your thoughts?
Talk about stirrin the pot! I would agree. I think it is the sponsors choice reguardless of who says what.

How would that work? Rocky Boots takes a hard look at their program and decides they want to up their investment in NHRA racing and go to a bigger team, and maybe spend more money. So you're going to say to them "no, I'm sorry, you have to stay with your original team"? Ugh...
We already have NHRA setting rules saying that if you want to be a major sponsor on a pro team you also have to be an NHRA sponsor. There are dozens of little rules about what you can and can't do on the midway.
We need to make it easier for companies to sponsor, not harder.
The NHRA is already telling everyone that is involved how to conduct business. For every sponsor that just moves to another team how many leave due to the lack of ethics? Perhaps that's why some sponsors have left completely.
DSR has been very successful at attracting sponsor's from other teams. Good teams have lost their sponsor to DSR and although I can't recall the details it seems that a team or two has folded due to the loss.
I think there should be a hands off policy (much like pro sports) and the receving team should pay a penalty if a sponsor changes teams from one year to the next.
I'm not saying DSR is anything right or wrong but even business needs rules.
Prudhomme was offered the deal, but turned it down!
This statement is not accurate...I have explained in great detail how Don Schumacher cultivated that opportunity on his own in another thread here somewhere. And he was the one who explained it to me, so maybe if he sees this thread, he could chime in....
It's no secrest why he has so many sponsors...his approach, execution, and sponsor support is brilliant...as is he
to make sure that i understand you correctly, are you saying that if you are a better businessman than i am, that because my sponsor agreed with that and went to your team, that you should have to pay a penalty for that? Really?
The fact is the best managed teams are typically the ones that not only race well, but handle their business well....those who dont, are left out in the cold..this is true in any industry...not just motorsports...
Please don't do that to racing....let the strong teams survive...the competition is way better for it, and so is the value to the sponsor that fuels the show, at the end of the day
I think that reads another way, it's an associate deal, not a full time deal, except for 3 races.I think they wanted primary exposure on a FC and Kalitta couldn't do it. They weren't willing to go for a whole season deal as primary and DSR had a deal for them. Best way to keep a sponsor is a long term contract and proven ROI just like any other business.
