something(s) has to be done! And Fast!

If NHRA does slow the Fuel classes to run 290-300 MPH, I'm betting they will slow the A/Fuel cars as well, Will Hanna has addressed this very thing on his website!

And if you continued to read the thread, he was told by a high level executive from NHRA this is not their intent. CHECK OUT POST 28

The intent with why NHRA is making these changes is NOT to slow them down. It's to reduce the chances of CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE.

This is the issue at hand. It's not about how fast they are going. It's the CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE which is what they are trying to avoid. The slowing of the cars is a bi-product of the changes they are implementing.

So, does something need to be done....and done fast... YES. Find a way to reduce the catastrophic engine failures in these car. What ever the performance loss should be acceptable to a good drag racing fan.

I'll take side-by-side 4.90's all day long at 1/4 mile and I'm sure the drivers, owners, sponsors, crew members and chiefs would too...

... Clutch slippage thus unloading the Motor...
That can be a factor , watch on the burnout for a few cylinders that will spray raw fuel, those are normally the hottest on a run so they have the largest nozzles ... they can drop the hole because of no load ...
