Snyder Headed Back to Joliet

Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team were in Joliet last weekend for the Jeg’s All-Star event and the Torco Racing Fuels Route 66 Nationals. This weekend the Team sponsored by Powersource Transportation is headed back to see if they can get their first win of the season on the NHRA tour at the division 3 Lucas Oil Divisional Series event.

Last weekend, Snyder qualified number one for the Jeg’s All-Star event, which showcases the best drivers from across the country, with a 5.61 second pass at 255 MPH. After running a 5.63 in the first round of eliminations to earn lane choice in the semi-final, Snyder could not hold the car at the line when he went to stage turning on the red light.

After eventually qualifying number three for the National event, Snyder headed into first round with lane choice over his opponent. He earned the win light at the other end with a 5.64 at 255 MPH. In the second round, he made another good pass, 5.64, but was unable to hold off his competitor.

“We feel like the car is running well. I mean this is a new car and a different set up than we have ever run before and we are keeping up with some of the best in country. We still have a lot to learn, but I am really excited about everything we learned last weekend. The more passes we can make, the more we are going to learn,” said Snyder.

“I am excited to get back out there this weekend at our home track to see if we can’t bring the Wally home for Powersource Transportation and all of our great sponsors.”

Qualifying for the event begins on Friday evening at 5 PM. They will get two more shots to make the 8 car field on Saturday at 5 and 8 PM. Final eliminations will be held on Sunday following the opening ceremonies.
