yep- I thought the samein fact I was going to bring it up but I thought I might have misunderstood what Micheal said. Guess I didnt.
My feeling about it is-- its great Micheal is doing well and he should just keep trying to win races and let that speak for itself. What he is doing by spouting off this way is degrading his achievements. JMO
My thoughts exactly. I, too, was gonna bring it up but I "chickened out"!
& yes, Michael needs to let his achievements do the talking.

The one who is showing their true character is Matt Smith. Evidentially no one can possibly run faster than him, or they are a cheater. Michael explained in the interview he was getting help, and that has picked up his performance. NHRA has torn Michael down plenty in 2010 so maybe Matt should shut up and let Tech do their job. Looks like Matt’s allegations are being addressed by NHRA.
That said, as far as personalities … as someone who has spent time in both of their trailers, and been around both for many days, Michael Phillips is straight up a guy who would help you when you need it. Matt Smith …Ummm, (last time I told the truth about Matt it was deleted)
After this kick ass no-bar race that Michael would surely win, I would hope that both bikes break to the point of needing parts and extra hands to fix. From reading the posts above, it looks like many of you would be surprised on which of the two would have fellow racers lining up to help get them fixed. On this there is no doubt.

I would agree with you. I am not a fan of either of these two. Matt is a hot head and Phillips is a grand stander, but I guess the bike ranks need some drama since nobody really watches them. They haven't had any drama since Angelle. As far as black etc. if you want to go there compare Antron and Phillips, there is a world of difference. I am a pretty easy going guy but Phillips in my opinion is a jerk and bad sportsman, regardless if he is green, blue, pink or whatever color. He is a trouble maker with a chip on his shoulder.

OR maybe its when his entire crew comes in front of Matt and Angie's pits and shakes their asses, then points middle fingers at them...
Matt in my opinion, especially after reading the Competition Plus article is the classy one. He and many others are out there working their asses off trying to race and when he feels something is blatantly wrong or unfair he voices his opinions (which are normally the opinions of many others in the PSM pits, he just is the one that comes forward)...

Exactly right Wayne, basically what Matt is saying is that the NHRA Tech Department is incapable of doing their jobs???
Go out there and race and leave the damn drama home. I never thought too much about Phillips and all of his rants (remember Indy, how embarrasing was that) but I thought Matt was supposed to be a professional.......they both look extremely imature in this matter.

Geeze man, this is a shame. So what's the NEXT level after this one??? This is kind of stuff completley different than Snake-Mongoose or ChaCha-Big. I'd tend to think that they better watch out for the sanctioning body to throw down some fines or suspensions if this volume gets turned up much more. Let the win lights do the talking

Too bad so much time has been wasted on these 2 drama queens-there are so many class acts in PS/B-Hector-Craig-Steve J. that never will get the air time they deserve. But hey--isn't controversy what we all (were told we ) wanted?
My opinion of Phillips never got much above zero--and of Matt it drops closer + closer to there each time he shows in print. I hope V+H wins the next race-then Matt can go back to accussing them of sandbagging.(and strangely then also the back half numbers were the "proof"
)

Wow! I might have to start watching PSB instead of skipping over it on the DVR. Having not really watched a single PSB race this year on TV, and basically knowing nothing about any PSB rider other then this article, although both drivers come off as not being very classy -
Smith accused Phillips of cheating, and is still convinced that he is cheating despite NHRA having torn down Phillips' bike and finding nothing. This in my opinion makes Smith look like the bigger jerk. Don't know how the race thing plays into it though, I can't have an opinion either way because theres just no way to prove anything was said anywhere.
Either way, it just made the PSB class more interesting to watch in Brainerd (3 weeks and counting!)

If the tech dept tore Philips' bike down and found nothing, that is enough proof right now.
