Who was the FC driver that used to come out of the hatch acting like he was shooting 2 6 shooters? Capps? Are his antics considered thuggish?

And as for him being called a cheater? When I raced, you call someone a cheater, you better be able to prove it. If not, shut your mouth, go back to your pits, and figure out how to keep from getting your butt whooped.

Greg, there is clearly a difference between Capps getting out with his 6 shooters and what the Phillips/Smith thing has brewed to.

kinda' starting to like this michael phillips guy........he has persevered and
is finally attaining some level of success.

wish i liked PSB more, they seem to have a variety of winners on any given
weekend - more i think than the other 3 pro classes.

hey, i don't dislike andrew hines, but when he said in victory last sunday
something to the effect of changing engines and having to sweat between
rounds........michael phillips strikes me as a guy who sweats ALL the time,
works very hard at his program, and now he's kicking some ass.

am enjoying his success same as hector's last year, and karen's @ denver,
and steve johnson lately.........and even the harley team.....it's all good.

And I'm not condoning Matt calling him a cheater either. You either have proof or you shut up and race. I just dont like MP's antics and I understand the thug image people have of him.

I've seen people on this website condone a shirt(and want to buy it) that has a picture of a current crew chief punching another racer, condone a driver punching another driver, condone the suggestion that a crew chief should go beat up a owner/driver because he has a difference of opinion and drivers acting like a complete imbecile after a win. I could go on.

I could be wrong, but I don't remember anyone calling them "thugs" or "wishing they would never win another round".

The bottom line is, Matt Smith and Reggie Phillips should've both used better judgement in their comments to one another. Especially when the comments are more than likely not true.

They showed it but there was no finish line interview which ain't surprising. The coverage at the starting line indicated he and Smith haven't met for their beer summit.

We offered The BEER SUMMIT before the race, but neither Matt or Michael accepted our offer.... so....in the spirit of detaunt, these two Mater's acted on their behalf....

Matt shouldn't be calling anyone a cheater, back in 2007 when he won the championship he got his share of people making accusations that he was cheating. Maybe he was... Maybe he wasn't...

The same Tech Department that is checking Michael's motorcycle are the same ones that checked his. So I guess if they can't find what Michael is doing they couldn't find what Matt was doing..... Just Saying....

I strongly suspect that a couple of people here believe that if Phillips were white that I'd ignore the whole thing. Bullcrap. Matt Smith played a part in this. I replied to Smith directly, right here in this thread, and said as much. Go read it.

Behavior is colorblind. You couldn't ask for a nicer guy than Antron Brown and I can name plenty of white jerks. Obviously Brown and Phillips attended different charm schools.

Can't argue with anything that you've posted here Carl. All that a man REALLY has in life is his integrity...............

For the record, everyone who has called me a nigger, wasn't racist (or non Black). Additionally racist banter and motorcycle drag racing have a continued relationship. I, in my expeience, have never seen it amount to more than words and I've been around the bikes since 1972.

Same guy that your fighting on Friday, does an all nighter fixing your bike (with HIS parts) on Saturday. Motorcycle Drag Racers are, interesting.

Calling each other cheaters is more of the same.

Actually I believe Johnny is right. I have seen these local motorcycle guys do the same exact thing (except for the cheating part), mouthing off then after the race drinking and carrying on. I think they are a little different than regular drag racers, not bad just different.
