Freddie Fender Tejano singer died Sat. at his home in Corpus Christi Tx.
I liked Freddie he was quite a guy and even more importantly to this crowd he was a car guy!.
He had a home on Ocean Dr. in Corpus and if you drove by when was home you would find the flavor of the day in a classic or street rod car sitting in his drive way.
Freddy's favorite was a Turquoise blue 57 Chevy convertible with white tucked and rolled interior .
Easily recognizable I often flew to Houston and on to New Orleans with Freddie on the airplane [ He played the casino's in Gulfport/ Boluxi Ms. alot in those days ] and I never failed to see him treat people who knew him with a smile and hug or handshake.
Yep a good car guy has moved on at 69 due to excessing on booze [ liver ] and dope [ kidneys ] far too long.
Via Con Dios Freddie and keep singing " Till The Last Teardrop Falls " at that big Drag strip Car Show in The Sky!
