Shawn Reed update (5 Viewers)

ida would have to go on a tear to pass shawn for 10th place by end of indy ...... stranger things have happened.
Not sure Ida is going to the next 3 but I'd wait until atleast Indy to put a driver in for Shawn. I'm sure TJ would jump on it

Before Doug Kalitta blew a tire in 2023 or 2024, I think, when was the earliest TF tire failure before that? Doug’s failure was rapidly followed by Millican, Langdon, Mercier, and I think there was another one in there.

I refer back to my earlier post, which addresses the gorilla in the room that nobody is talking about.

Top fuel cars have been running over 325, 330 for quite a while. Why were these failures not happening until the last couple of years? Or, flip this around, why are they just now happening? Any theories?

Based on zero inside info, I can't imagine how a canopy would have prevented a hand injury. With the arm restraints his hands would not have been able to get out of the cockpit. Whatever hurt his hands, would have had to be (as Paul speculated) inside the cockpit.

Alan

I respect your opinion, Alan. From the video, it appears that a lot of debris entered and shattered the front windshield. It’s possible that’s what caused the injury to his thumb and index finger. Of course, this is still just speculation. A canopy might have improved safety in this situation. Hopefully, Shawn will shed more light on what actually happened in the future.

Yep. I had a friend who lost his lower left leg due to diabetes. Phantom pain bothered him until the day he passed away.
As a lower left leg amputee I can attest to the phantom pain. It's weird how that all works and my big toe hurts like hell sometimes. I have grown somewhat accustomed to it but it's there. I told my doctor that it itches sometimes and he said to scratch it, so I tried it and I'll be damned it worked. LOL
