SCOTT PALMER BACK IN ACTION AT ENNIS

Two months ago, Scott Palmer Racing was on a roll. After putting up a personal best ET of 4.58 at Chicago, IL in June, the team followed that up with another best ET of 4.57 at Norwalk, OH. Thanks to David Powers Motorsports, Rob Flynn and Lee Beard, the team had their top fuel dragster running consistently enough to start making their own judgment calls, and start improving ¼ mile times to much more of a competitive level. Also, not only is Bill Miller a good personal friend of Scott’s, but he found the major problem that plagued the team for the majority of last season, which helped to facilitate the comeback the team has been accomplishing so far this year.

Now, after two months of not top fuel racing, and a series of sponsor let-downs, Scott Palmer Racing’s associate sponsors have all pooled together to enable the team to attend the O’Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals at Dallas. Most of the credit needs to be given to Superlifts, of Aurora, Missouri. Superlifts manufactures and sells automotive lifts, jacks and accessories, and specializes in race trailer lifts. Company owner Keith Goolsby provided the final additional funding to guarantee that the team would make it to the Dallas National Event.

“We were really disappointed to not get back out there after the car had been running so good at every race we’d been to this year. It was hard not to, but this year, we decided that if we’re going to run a National Event, we’re going do it right. We’re going to be prepared. We’re going to be professional. That will give us every opportunity to be as competitive as possible. And that’s exactly what we have done. That’s not to say we haven’t been busy though…”

In the two months the team hasn’t been running the top fuel car, Scott Palmer Racing has been having a great time Pro Mod racing at local tracks. Scott has won 2 Pro Mod races this year, one at Woods Brothers Raceway in Sallisaw, OK (in his ’63 Corvette Pro Mod), and the other at the Super Chevy Event in Indianapolis (in the Barklage Racing GTO Pro Mod). The team will also be following up the Dallas National Event at the Miss Torco Shootout presented by Babe Xtreme in Tulsa, OK, where they’ll be running both the Pro Mod and the Top Fuel Dragster.

“As fun as Pro Mod racing is, nothing can beat running the fuel car. I know that everyone on the team is ready to start smelling the nitro again, so we are all really excited to head to Dallas and lay down some good runs like we were making before. Our entire team wants to say a big thanks to each and every company, team and person that stands behind this racing organization. We couldn’t do it without you.”

The team would like to recognize all of their associate sponsors that helped provide the opportunity to attend the Dallas National Event:
Superlifts.com, Marck Industries, Heckert Construction, Torco Race Fuels, Babe Xtreme Entertainment Group, Bill Miller Engineering, Wizards Warehouse, D & D Concrete Construction.
