RT66 Nationals 2026

I see on the entry list, that Zizzo is running a 14 year old DSR chassis. If this is the same pipe he has been running the last few years, it sure hasn't slowed him down any to use a chassis that is this old. I wonder how many runs it has on it?
The chassis is Tony Schumacher's 2014 championship car. It was retired with a minimal amount of runs on it and was in storage at DSR until we purchased it in 2022. The chassis was purchased with a new front halve and was front halved again for 2024.

looking forward to you guys making some waves today!!!

procks, elite PS cars, and angie smith with performance gains at this race.
see what holds up today (raceday). i don't understand the rwr cars. they are just behind this year.
there is no way they can make identical calls for every run with both cars, IMO they have to look at
individual data. there probably is a baseline that is the same, but final tuning must be a little different.

They seem to have them rwr cars plenty close to each other

You have to wonder each week which Chad Green is showing up this weekend. Great job by them. KB-Titan just seemed off this weekend for some reason. What happened to Dave Connelly. He was supposed to run Cody Coughlin's car? Kalitta's keep marching on. Shawn is on a roll. Great comeback after poor qualifying. I thought this was Jack's weekend but they got bit and Alexa had a good race.

Heartbroken for Angie, she seemed to be destined for a Wally...and Erica seemed on her way too, but GA stepped up when needed, then went way red in the final.

Alexis is doing great this year, car is consistently going down the track. I am surprised she doesn't try rolling it in a little deep every now and then (Force could teach her), although she survived a 0.130 light to beat Hagan. She's very likable. Really hoping that Jack is going to come on later and make a run for the title.

Who had Ashley losing on a baby hole-shot? Maddi Gordon is stepping up on the tree....a win is near.

happy for their success. chad has sum social media that is basically a between rounds turnaround.
guys are mic'd up. camera really shows a lot of what happens, way more than you can see standing at the ropes.
good stuff.

I became a fan of Clay's from his youtube channel back in the days of Doug Stringer and Mike Kloeber. Jim O replaced Kloeber just before Doug sold the team to Rick Ware. I don't understand RWR either. Jim, Jon O and Nicky all have a lot of experience and Rick has invested in the parts I think. Tony's crew is not as veteran as Clay's but they have almost identical records. After 6 races Clay has gone out in Rd. 1 4 times, Rd. 2 once and the semi's once. Tony Rd. 1 4 times including breaking twice at the same race qualifying and eliminations and Rd. 2 twice. Clay is 10th in the points, Tony 11th. I agree what their doing isn't working. In qualifying Jim O said they were finally finding some consistency, they qualified 11th and 12th but do they consistently want to go out in Rd. 1?!! I think they've raced each other twice in eliminatons?

what was the chicago attendance like?
I was there Sunday. Again the vast majority of the north side grandstands were blocked off, so not too many people over there especially since that side is opposite of the pits. A rough guess would be about 2/3rds of the south side grandstands were full.

I always thought getting rid of kloeber was a bad deal,he did well with what stringer gave him

At the time, I remember reading that Kloeber seem to have issues dealing with employees. In other words, he evidently is hard to work with. Why else do we not see him out there with other teams? Which is unfortunate, as he does seem to know what he's doing as far as the race car is concerned.

if someone came in as a short term consultant for rwr, i wouldn't be surprised. clay, tony, the O brothers and nicky
are all getting older. they've got the talent and the pieces, but they just keep running into gremlins. i really want to see them
turn it around, for everybody involved, including rick ware.

Ive heard that too,but rwr seems like they are going thru employees anyway lol. Maybe he is a hothead? To bad if he is rude with crew he cant overcome it,great cc

Buddy of mine was talking about nhra should move joliet to memorial day weekend. I told him that would be a awful move since its indy 500 weekend and that would easily take bigger priority.

This is a nice facility and I think they could do something really big with it
