[coverattach=1]Steve Kent and Rodger Brogdon the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle season has been a roller coaster season that they would like to see stabilize a little as they roll into the busiest part of the season.

“We have had a car all season that has been capable of winning, but as a team we have stumbled too often at the wrong time,” said Rodger Brogdon, driver of the Kent Services / Attitude Apparel Pro Stock Pontiac. “We were the #2 qualifier at St. Louis and looked to finally be able to put some round wins under our belt, and then crashed in the opening round. We enlisted the help of what seemed like half of the Pro Stock world to get fixed and able to race at Atlanta, and stubbed our toe again when we didn’t qualify.” “After the DNQ in Atlanta we went back to St Louis to test and it appeared we had everything back on track as we readied for Topeka. At Topeka we stumbled with our initial qualifying and then got in on Saturday in weather conditions that bordered on ridiculous. After busting our butt’s to get in on Saturday we embarrassed ourselves on Sunday in round one.”
“ESPN’s coverage showed an upset Antron Brown taking a long walk back to the pits after his loss, but he wasn’t the only one that took a hike back to the pits at Topeka. We sucked so bad in that opening round that I had to take a long walk back myself. We are in this to win and are well aware of the fact that there is a learning curve that everyone has to go through, but it’s when the little things keep biting you in the ass that you have to stop and make sure that the team has its focus where it needs to be.”

“We are now a little over a third of the way through the season and the goals that Steve and I set for the year are still attainable, but we’re going to have to step up the pace. The K & N Challenge at Norwalk is on our priority list and after St. Louis we were only 20 points away from a solid qualifying position, now we’re going to have to really hustle in these next 3 races to put ourselves in the field.”

“The Countdown at the end of the year is another goal and we’ve got 8 races left to make sure that we are in for the championship run over the final 6 races. And of course, we’re still looking to put the “Pistonator” in the winner’s circle this year as well. We’ve got the car and we’ve got the personnel, we just have to put it all together and quit making the minor mistakes we’ve been making, and we’re looking to do just that at Joliet this weekend.”
