This is a situation where the "other guys" will directly impact an NHRA National event.
IHRA had scheduled their Fendt Tour Pulling Series Finale at the GALOT facility in Benson, NC the same weekend as NHRA Rockingham. However, due to another large event in the town that weekend, they have moved their Fendt Tour finale to Rockingham Speedway... the same weekend as the NHRA drag race. It's reasonable to guess they would use the pit road of the oval for their event, albeit covered in red North Carolina clay for the weekend.
I've never been to Rockingham, but understand the drag strip and oval are basically across the road from each other, and one would let people park there when the other held an event. That was probably not going to happen anyway but certainly not now.
With over 100 pulling teams, plus IHRA staff, plus fans who may come for that event, the pressure on the local hotel market will increase. Although, I would think the NHRA teams and NHRA staff would already have the hotels booked up, assuming they get rooms booked as soon as they know they're running at that event, which for many of the Pro teams, is when the schedule is announced the prior year. Just guessing as I'm not sure when the Pro teams or NHRA staff book their rooms.
All this to say, like Gainesville, fans may want to arrive early. It may be possible to attend both if one desires.
