One of drag racing's nicest family members, "Uncle" George Phillips, passed away last night. George almost single-handedly kept the junior dragster program going for many years and had a real passion for the class. He was also responsible for the introduction of the junior comp program. Before his tenure heading up the JDRL George had a long career at National Dragster. George was a man of character, a wonderful friend to the sport of drag racing and he will be greatly missed. RIP George.
