One of the RWR Crew Chiefs was booted by NASCAR from the race I believe on Thr or Fri. For, get this BALAST. Like they didn't pay attention when Clay
had his problem.

watched yesterday as well, paying close attention to cory lajoie car ....... cory has mixed recent past in nascar ...... announcers yesterday seemed to
struggle to mention his name ...... post race comments were 'no strong fords left at end', yet lajoie was right there ...... lajoie leading on 1-2 lap finish restart,
he didn't stand a chance. didn't seem like anyone wanted to run with him? ...... what a shame for a lesser funded team to lose a top 5 finish in a blink of an eye.

aerial view of last lap. cole custer, driving lone haas car, IMO moves down and causes wreck
custer was also directly behind christopher bell, bump drafting him, when he 'accidently' turned him around
with 5 laps left, causing the first of the last two crashes in the race. IMO the restrictor plate entertainment package is not getting any better.
glad to have been on other side of state the weekend previous for real racing.
edit 2/18: now a day later the utube video i linked in this post has been taken down? i removed it from post

Lajoie was one of the cars I was keeping an eye on.

NASCAR Superspeedway racing is broken, it won't be address until the fans stop watching it.

Also, Drag Racing and Indy Car fans should rejoice. At least most of the drivers in those series have a pulse.
You can include me in the NOT watching. I believe this yr was the 1st time I've never even watched the start or the last laps.
IMHO the format has been totally screwed up. They keep complaining about the numbers, I wish they would just try going back to the old format say 1989 and just give it a try to see if it makes any difference.

Regarding the Daytona 500, it has been a horrible show for many years. These NASCAR drivers need to get their shit together and stay the hell out of each other's way. How often do we see 3 or 4 cautions in the last 20 laps of this race? That completely screws up the momentum. Green/white/checkered flag damn near every time. It's a joke of a race. The Indy 500 is a far, far better show with almost always much excitement at the end. I can't believe the Daytona 500 keeps selling out. I would have to be paid a lot of $$ to sit through that overrated crash-fest.

you gotta' admit, the place and the event is a spectacle. especially when the POTUS shows up. my buddies go to duels most years,
not because they like nascar, but just for the spectacle of the place, and the rush of 20+ cars flying by you at speed.

I know that NASCAR can thank Cleetus for some rekindled interest in the ARCA series. I'm sure some purists see it as a "stunt", but that guy can generally drive the wheels off of anything. Was looking pretty good out there compared to some of the other drivers he was competing with. I sure wished that he would find his way into the NHRA pro side. That's the fan base that NHRA needs. Young.

Only watched the Daytona 500 to root for Rick’s drivers. After leading a couple laps, with one lap to go, Corey LaJoie was in 3rd place and got spun out. Didn’t even finish in the top 20. Made me sick. I was so pulling for those guys.
Have you ever listened to Corey's show Stacking Pennies on SXM Nascar radio? It's pretty good, I think it was on this past Tuesday morning. Not many people know he was deathly ill with the stomach flu. If it wasn't for the 6 hour rain delay he wasn't sure if he was going to make it through the whole race.

today cleetus joined dale jr. on his dirty mo podcast. in 8 hours over 370k views. that is staggering.

I've only watched snippets of the Dale Jr show but I can say I was tuned in for the whole thing. That was a great show. They brought the best out of each other for sure. I was impressed with both of them. And its over 850k this morning. ARCA had its most viewers since 2013 and they had more viewers than the truck race on friday.

I know last year when he ran beside Clay in Ruby at the Shootout, there was a pretty viral following. Not to mention having a "Cleetus" dragster and idling it on the dyno. Too bad someone couldn't fill in the blanks between those arenas and make it a bigger deal...

best wishes with this partnership going forward. we all wish they'd spend a little more with clay, but it's a numbers game.
2 for $7 is a number's game too. one that i won't play anymore.
