Quickest Race day ever!

I do NOT remember any race I attended that the finals got finished in just 5 hrs! Sure there was a couple of oildowns as usual, but NHRA wasted NO time going from Pro's to alky to Pro mod, etc..! 2nd Round Alky FC/Dragster was finished before 1 PM which is unheard of. So to whoever's responsible for speeding up the show thanks!;)

Actually, the race finished three or gour minutes behind schedule. Yhe daily run schedule showed "3:59 p.m. Secure Track." The Top Fuel final pair fired their engines at 4:02 p.m. :o:o

The guess is correct - rain was expected just about all day long. It rained around 7:30 a.m., spritzed around 8, then was dry but cloudy and blustery all day. Started raining again around 5 p.m. We were very, very lucky to get Sunday in without a rain delay.

It was a little shocking to me, but I was ready for an early day after two LONG days in a row. ;)

Hey Kel...........Too bad my Htown trip the 1st of Feb couldn't have been postponed until this past week, huh??!! See ya again sometime!!

Late....................Mitch

When Greg and I left the hotel on Sunday morning, I checked weather.com and saw an 80% chance of rain for Baytown. Well, it did rain...at about 7:45 and it lasted for maybe 5 minutes. The quick run through the entire program was great. About the only bad thing one could say is that it was over too fast and it was time to go home.

Larry I had suspected NHRA was looking at Doppler all day, but this was a Big show. Alky Cars, Pro mods and Bikes, if any show with all the Big classes has gone off that quick I haven't seen it!
