I would like to say how much the passing of Leon Fitzgerald hits home. So many great events, so many great runs, so many memories, rest in peace my racing hero. I rooted for Leon to beat Guasco every time they lined up. Dad and I really had a time when he won class at Parker Avenue in 71 over a stout, very stout field.

Drag racing lost two more of its early pioneers this week with the passing of Fuel Altered racer Leon Fitzgerald and Pro Stock racer and crankshaft manufacturer Sonny Bryant.
