The NHRA used its "eminent domain" where they somehow control everything at their sanctioned tracks 24/7/30/365 and stopped the use of nitro in the ADRL cars at NHRA tracks.
Escape hatches, fire hose window ports, sealed interiors, fresh air systems could make the cars "safer".
The real problem is the low percentages. 50 5 cars are fire prone. See one of Pappadeas' tapes of Ricky Ruiz' fire at an Englishtown Wednesday night match race. I was there, it was horrible. 50%.
Solid rear suspension cars with the racers deciding the percentage would be the way. It will never happen because of NHRA.
