This may be a bad analogy, but having a mostly pro race minus the LODRS classes may be like going to a PBR event compared to a full rodeo.

I guess the people doing stuff between runs or during track prep serve a function similar to rodeo clowns, sans distracting the bull.
 
The original Supernationals at Ontario was a Pro-Only show. Not sure what the car count was but it’s probably close

Most of the east coast TF independents opted for Epping. With the events being back to back they had to choose one or the other.
