Why? No one uses it to determine the winner. It's unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

The reason these finish line photos are not accurate has been discussed to death on here and they are not accurate for a variety of reasons. One of them being that stripe is added and not straight. I'm not being a jerk about it or anything. I do find it funny that anyone would use that stretched and skewed photo as proof of anything. Back when it happened at Indy they had a clear photo with no computer generated stripe and the camera was in a much better position to look across the finish line. Some much more intelligent photographers here have explained it better than I could.
