From their FB page:The IHRA has a class called outlaw nitro. What exactly does this mean and how does it differ from the NHRA Top Fuel and Nitro funny car classes? Obviously there have to be rules.
Is it invite to participate or can anyone enter? Heard it might be invite. Hoping for successFrom their FB page:
“IHRA Outlaw” is a reference to going against sanctioning body norms and placing an emphasis on racers, fans, sponsors, and tracks in such a way that we transform the IHRA into the ultimate motorsport and entertainment powerhouse.
I have no idea. I would think anybody could enter. Scott Palmer and Jack Wyatt indicated they were running IHRA. Dave Gallegos has been reposting a lot of IHRA posts. Krista Baldwin has expressed interests well. While I think it’s great to give the racers more options to run, the cost is still higher than the payouts. The lower funded teams generally have less parts. I think there will be a lot of teams only making one pass if there isn’t a bump spot and I would expect some singles in eliminations. A little explosion could easily knock a team out for several races. Is it invite to participate or can anyone enter? Heard it might be invite. Hoping for success
I think Lex is going to run them. Mitch King had 2 TF cars, Dave drove one at Baton Rouge I was told. I plan on flying from Texas for the last one in NC.I have no idea. I have heard they may only be 1/8th mile for all classes but have not been able to confirm. I didn’t come across anything in the rule book about it.I think Lex is going to run them.
