I was racing Yamaha sprint carts a few years back in vegas, the shifter 125s are very fast, most wore rib protection for the g-forces, I think from what I heard from the shifter guys that the 250s were overkill and couldn’t get enough guys to race them, heard one story that a group of guys all bought 250s and started to practice at local warehouses and got overwhelmed and put them in garages before they ever made it out to track

Yes, we wore rib protection vests to protect from the lateral G-forces. Russ's kart had a computer on it back then that monitored speed and forces and would actually recreate and let you download each lap at the track. I remember the 250cc carts but they never seemed to take off. We also ran Adam's Kart Track in Riverside. Link here: https://adamsmotorsportspark.com/racing/kart-racing/

NASCAR. I'm trying to get into Indycar, but after I dumped F1 I just find it to be a hard time getting back into open wheel.

Monster trucks Amazing what you can do with a ten thousand pound vehicle. Just saw a live indoor stadium show and enjoyed every second of it.

Following WSOPM's Saturday finish at Bradenton, I crossed the bay on Sunday to see the Firestone Grand Prix at St. Pete, my first Indycar experience. I bought gen admission on the gate, so stayed at ground level, didn't sit in the stands.

I enjoyed the day -- great people-watching, as the place was packed. Racing? What racing? The track was surrounded by walls, as on a dragstrip. All you could see for 2 hours was the very tops of cars whizzing past. Even if I'd sat in a stand, I'd still only have seen one section of track. Have to watch the big screens to have any idea of what was going on.

Afterwards, sat on a low wall for nearly an hour watching people leave. They all seemed satisfied with what they might, or might not, have seen. But so frustrating. How do you explain to all these people that the spectator experience they would have at an NHRA race would be so superior?
