I was racing Yamaha sprint carts a few years back in vegas, the shifter 125s are very fast, most wore rib protection for the g-forces, I think from what I heard from the shifter guys that the 250s were overkill and couldn’t get enough guys to race them, heard one story that a group of guys all bought 250s and started to practice at local warehouses and got overwhelmed and put them in garages before they ever made it out to track
Yes, we wore rib protection vests to protect from the lateral G-forces. Russ's kart had a computer on it back then that monitored speed and forces and would actually recreate and let you download each lap at the track.
