Yes, I know there are several weeks before the event and more guys will sign up.

However, the #s are extremely low in Stock, SG, and SC.
I don't see these divisions getting anywhere near their entry limit.

If Super Gas only gets 80 entrys, do we really 4 days to run 7 rounds, when the last 3 will be on Monday?

I'm just sayin.....

have heard from sportsmen racers that indy can really be a
'hurry up and wait' scenario.........day/s can pass between runs.
any truth to this?

if this is the car count on Weds then start to worry but I'd wait til then

Kathy, me, and apparently at least 80 other people...

Sorry to offend you people as I have seen many really cool super class cars, however, what is the attraction to you to run these classes? I haven't liked any of these since the delay boxes started being used. If I had your cars I guess I would be prone to run brackets that had no boxes at my local tracks.

Racing is Racing, No matter if its a Top Fuel or Funnycar or Or a Super Comp Car or Just Plain Stock Divison; Some of the Best Racers are in Sportsmen Classes. No matter what class a racer is in, it still cost money and time to go racing, These sportsmen racers do it for the love of the sport and the competition. Comments like that from Mr. Eagle are what brings down these types of message boards. Mike

He's the same way with PSM, Mike. Just ignore him.

Just as I ignore your classes and PSM. I tried to be nice but...All 20 people in the stands when you run tell the story. I would prefer to just have quiet time instead of having to hear your UN race cars run. And don't lump Comp, SS or Stock eliminators in, I really do like them. End of rant.

Well, then just head to pits, Craig..just ignore it. Just like you should do to threads you have no interest in. It looks much better for you to NOT hit Reply..as opposed to stinking a thread up.

S/C is arguably the most competitive class in drag racing. Typical MOVs of a few feet. Packages < 0.01 aren't uncommon. It takes tons of practice, skill, and effort to pull this off. When the pros want to polish their skills, they run S/C. If you can't/don't choose to see this, as they say "sucks for you".

Not just Indy, pretty much any Nat'l event. Sportsmen are just "filler" at these events, so you have to wait around a lot to then get hot-lapped. But if you want a gold Wally, you gots ta pay da price.

Lagging pennies and horseshoes can be close too. I have never been able to justify,in my mind, anything where you can break out, as racing. And I have driven a SC dragster.

Anything looks easy till you try it! I'd enjoy SC/SG much more if it weren't for all the electronics! I think that's why TD/TS are gaining popularity in most areas of the country.

And for those very reasons I'll be in the stands when the first pair fire up, both at Brainerd and Indy. Don't like super classes? Fine, don't watch. Simple as that.
