Norwalk

2020 was his rookie season and I looked back to see what his RTs were, on the theory that ‘something’ magic was found in the last few years by him or a crew member. Well… he was just as good from the get-go. Hardly ever had worse than .060s and many below .050. Including a .001 at Indy, a .017 and .020 at other events etc. Not sure if crew changed since then but now makes me think it’s all him.

changing gears (pun intended), Erica Enders was one once psychic and robotic like on the tree, yielding consistent .00 lights. Lately She has seemed to come back to earth, with the rest of the drivers, with her recent RT's

i wouldn't think age would be a major factor since the 'Reaction Time' Stat is kind of a misnomer. An instant Green tree would be more of a test for true reaction. The fact is, the driver knows when the green is coming on .2 secs? after the amber. I think it's more of a matter of your ability to concentrate and your timing. Over The years, there have been drivers alot older than Erica who constantly nail the tree

IMO the cory reed/joey gladstone win in PS was the pro highlight of norwalk. matt h. with big win in callout. the kb/titan performance parade continues.
i do not follow PSB, but john hall with the big win, getting help from matt smith i believe. first win in 12 years i think the broadcast said. good for him.
justin ashley and team are definitely finding their groove.
i've tried a few r.t. practice devices. it's hard. with any consistency even harder.

Hmm. Good sleuthing there.

I though that Sunday's elimination rounds were some of the most exciting racing of the entire season. You never knew who was going to advance. It was fun to watch!

Dan Wilk and G Herrera 😲😲😲...

Hall and Reed's wins 😁😁😁...

Busted up Ron Capps and Smoke's wallet, both good story lines... 😣😣😣

A very effective slot car drag racer in my area is blind. He uses an audio device that I assume makes a tone when the tree on his side is last yellow or green. I don't know any details about the system, but I do know he is a helluva nice guy who wins a ton and is very good on the tree.
Like the "Pinball Wizard"?? ;)

Ashley is indeed lightning quick. But .001, .017 and .020 in a top fuel dragster can pretty much be chalked up to good guesswork. They're not Pro Stocks. If it were indeed "all him" I believe you'd see two or more consecutive rounds with equally quick RTs but you don't.

Example, his RTs at this year's Winternationals were .027, .042, .060, .033, and .040. Gatornationals, .051, .042, and .040. New England, .033, .062, .034, .050, .042 and .042. Great RTs that will win races, all else being equal. And his car is starting to show the consistency it needs to go rounds (he's third in points).

I like the friendly little guy. I would hope that no one still believes that whatever shadow still follows his old man is a reflection on Justin's character.
