It's my belief that the "Why" doesn't matter. A good lead in is always a plus. If people are hiding inside from the heat or snowed in or whatever, doesn't matter. It gives us a change to show them what we do.
If more people see the show, at least a few of them that are not fans are going to be intrigued enough by what they saw to watch it again and maybe at some point to come to an event.
I'm certain that everyone here has had the experience of taking someone new to the track. And how many of those newbies said something like: "I had no idea that's what Drag Racing was all about." But you have to get them to look at it first.
