No track conditions?

I may be a nerd, but I like to see the track conditions. None for Top Fuel, None for Funny Car, none for Pro Stock... hey there's a report for Pro Mod and PSM... WTF??

Tim's quick review....

TRACK WAS FAST... Not really quick...BUT IT WAS FAST! 325 for Tony Schu...FASTEST SPEED IN THE 1000' ERA!

I don't get it. There were people testing here in Vegas last week. The track was great. Really quick. Then on Monday NHRA comes in and scrapes the track all the way down to the concrete, and spends the rest of the week trying to build it back up. Squirting a bunch of 30% VHT (or PJ1 or whatever) doesn't magically bring back all that rubber...

I'm at a loss as to why this happens every time, at every national event. Don't the people who know and run the track 365 days a year know how to run a track? Why does NHRA feel compelled to do that?

Chris; Its very simple, as Larry Morgan said. You Can't Fix STUPID.

And they realized that after 5 years, the Nitro cars are ALMOST as quick as they were at P2 2006 and several hundred pounds heavier... so, they've done the only logical thing there is to slow the cars down.... They've finally stopped OVER-PREPING the track.... The way I'm reading the Recaps, Rd 3 of Pipe Racks reads like The Gulf Platform Spill was small time...
