CompPlus is reporting that there's a good chance we will see the new-style old-style Camaros in PS in 2011. I think that would be great, we need another new look in the class to go with the Mustangs.

lets just hope the body isn't like that FUGLY thing some are using in pro mod.

this one looks good....

That is bada$$... Looks quite stock. I hope they can get Dodge to see the light and allow the challenger... As Bobby published this morning, bring PS back to factory hot rods and get rid of today's vega! I think it would do a lot for the poularity of the class and would provide it with an identity, which has been lost with the popularity of 10.5 and PM.

BOBBY BENNETT: WHERE HAS THE MUSCLECAR PRO STOCKER GONE?

Typical deal, complain about the possible looks..........followed by the remarks about aero "like a brick".

Finally :) I hate seeing PS cars that represent a 4 or 6 cyl, FWD. At least the Camaro the average Joe can buy is V8/RWD - the way God intended :D

As much as we would all love to see Mustangs, Challengers, and Camaros out there, the fact of the matter is that those cars are not within the price range of most young kids. Those cars are directed at aging baby boomers with relatively high incomes-people like me (ok, so most of my income goes to my comp car, so I can't afford one of those cars anymore). What the big two and the little third need to bring to market is a relatively cheap but sexy car with some performance-Ford at least understands this-they have had Courtney Force driving one of the new Fiestas that will be released later this year and from what I've seen, the 2012 Focus ought to be pretty cool as well. One of those cars is likely to replace the Civic I currently own. Let's see what the new Cruze from Chevy is like. And I hope that the technology that Chrysler will get from Fiat will allow them to build what I described above. If the big two and the little third don't produce these types of cars, they will continue to lose the younger market to the import brands (don't call them imports because many are built here in the US-plus of course the new Focus is based on what Ford has been doing overseas).

So I hope the next generation of pro stock cars is not based on cars that are trying to be sold to people whose next major life change will be going on social security and medicare and more concerned about the price of Viagra rather than the price of gasoline, but on cars being marketed to a new generation .

Compare the street version of the Camaro to the ones used in the Road racing events and you will notice a lot of body changes to get it compeditive there .. so i would expect the same for drag racing...

Great post. Funny, next time you see a new camaro, corvette, challenger etc. take a look at the driver, guarantee its a whitehead (or baldhead)

Those concept drawings look really nice, I'd like to see the artist's take on a three quarters view for both. Also Funny Car concepts for the Camaro and Challenger would be cool:cool:.

SS car or GT and what motor? Can't wait to see it. Maybe NHRA will be generous with the hp as there were with the mustang and challenger.

They weren't within the price range of most young kids back in the 70's either but we still went to the Drag Races and watched/enjoyed Pro Stock. I think it's more that today’s kids aren't attracted to those cars. They'd rather a 3 liter turbo Saab that accelerates and hooks the corners. Straight line just doesn't make the hair on the back of their neck stand up. They have many more options today than we "white hair or balding" had.

I would like to see the Corvette as a new FC body myself.... that would make a great looking FC..
