NHRA Points

Was just thinking about the points system and had the thought that it might be interesting to award points for track records. Maybe not the 20 points for a national record but maybe 10 points. A few bonus points would be neat to have during the season.

They used to give points for Low ET and Top Speed of the meet, which would now be a 5 point bonus.

The way NHRA seems to be heading they will probably start deducting points for top speed, low ET, track records, etc. etc.

But a really good idea would be points for being low for the round. That way even the #1 guy would have incentive to be quick in every round. Instead of just going out and "seeing what the track will hold" and smoking the tires.
