Has anyone else had a run in with the NHRA "official" who runs the tractor between rounds on the track? Talk about your power trip...

He looks like a pretty burly dude who could hold his own.

There are a lot of "Officials" in many organizations who enjoy the small amount of power that they do have.

Nah, but Timmah has a funny story from Denver about someone else on a power trip...funny story..:D

Timmah...care to share??

Ever wonder why that tractor has a set of full-sized air horns mounted on it?

I remember many races where I was in the media center waiting for track prep to finish. I can't tell you how many times I saw very close misses as people who were staring at the track would wander out in front of the tractor.

The person you're describing wasn't driving the tractor back then, but after almost hitting people 15 or 20 times a weekend, I think my mood would be a bit edgy.

Each person who almost got hit probably thinks of the incident as just one of those rare things. The guy on the tractor hits the brakes over and over and over and over.....
