Real estate is definitely hot here in SoCal, but that refers to private residences. The corporate market is terrible due to so many businesses now working from home along with many businesses moving out of state. They could be sitting on this property for a while...unless they can find someone to lease it to.

John Force racing is also in the process of downsizing their California shop and hoping to rent out space to someone else. Just a sign of the times.

I think this is more dire and that there is much more to this than anyone has discussed yet. I speculate the NHRA is out of money, and this is a quick way to raise a few million to keep the sanctioning body afloat until the end of the year. Likely they are selling Atlanta for the same reason. But why can't the NHRA get in on the Government gravy train and get a huge bail-out like everyone else?
and why IMO they didn't give up on the winters. instead of just canceling and saying 'see you next year', every effort seems have been made to host this event (a track they own and pay a lease on),
even is attendance is down, they can at least host a nat. event and make what the racer's gate gives them.......just think where they'd be without the 4 indy races last summer?

They will move the property pretty easily. It sits near a major freeway interchange and next to a nice golf course. Indy makes more sense, but I doubt the non-racers who manage NHRA will move with it. I hope Phil B., along with the ND crew, stays because he is a SoCal/OCIR rat and living in the butt ass cold of Indy might not be good for his health.

Unfortunately, I think you're right.
How many businesses could take the kind of his NHRA did last year. Frankly, this year hasn't improved THAT much.

BTW: Does anyone know if NHRA got a bailout loan? Under the circumstances, there's certainly no shame in it.
