On Thursdays the local morning newspaper has a special section called Start your Engines in the Sport Pages. Rarely does NHRA ever get a mention.
The feature story this morning was titled "Taking Stock of Auto Racing", a look at who's worth the money - and who's not - in the industry. They rated the market as buy, hold, or sell. Here is what was written about NHRA.
NHRA
Mainstream media still treats dragster as second-class citizens, but the fan base is as fervent and loyal as they come, and the series has the irrepressible John Force.
The series might operate below the main set of racing radar, but talk to any dra racing aficionade and you'll learn quickly they are as plugged in and as knowledgeable as any gearhead.
In fact, a corporation known as HD Partners has done just that, signing an agreement this week to buy the series. No changes are planned, the parties said. And why should there be? Why change what's working? BUY.
This was what was written about NASCAR.
There's no question the sport has hit a plateau. It is only natural. Everything that rises eventually falls. HOLD
