Am I wrong that the new commercial for Indy tickets is tone deaf? When they said that “every light , every inch, every run could be the one that buries you……”
I thought the same thing, especially as next year will be 30 years since we lost Blaine and Elmer... Tone deaf is an understatement; when 30% of the commercial focuses on moments that could EASILY take the life of the participant, you have to wonder what they are thinking about up in the ivory tower...
And they STILL haven't combatted IndyCar's ridiculously false claim in their commercials.

Blaine and Elmer will always be remembered this time of year.... and the recent upload of the video of Darrell Russell's dad riding with Larry Dixon brought that tragedy all back to mind.
All you can do is pray for safe racing and, "have some ice cream....nobody can be sad while eating ice cream."
That's what happens when you're top heavy with corporate that hasn't ever been a racer trying to run the company.
Too bad NHRA didn't get The Don or Bud King to set the ship on course.
