Hi Mike,
The pits are decent, but the track is PHENOMENAL!!! Bring you rown food, they kill ya at the concession stand. The house should be PACKED! Plus, the 2600ish feet of shutdown is nice. A TF car ran 322 at the last IHRA race and lost his chutes...stopped and made the turn without issue. I'm quite sure they replaced the pads after that one (on the calipers AND the drivers seat)

Manchester NH is the largest city in the state, It takes 30 minutes to get there from the track, plenty of hotels.
The other direction is the beaches, Hampton, Salisbury, Dover, Portsmouth and Many other places with a good supply of hotels.
Bruton Smith holds two of his races yearly in this same area drawing up to 120 thousand people and I don't see to many of them sleeping side the road!
In the words of a famous attorney this hotel shortage is "Much ado about nothing"
After commuting to E-Town for 20 straight years and going to the Grandenational Molson in Canada for several years this is pure goodness for us New Hampshire boys!!

Well said Paul, between Exeter, Portsmouth and Manchester there are far more hotels and restaurants closer to the track than I have found in races I have attended in Maple Grove, Topeka, Sonoma, St Pie, etc.
I can't comment on hotel price gouging since I live right up the road, but it cant be any worse than the beating we take from Gainesville hotels when NHRA is in town.

Mr webster GET MY ROOM READY AT YOUR HOUSE,, 20 min drive to track ill take care of credentials, parking pass etc, BUT i figure u will be on entry list next year!!! Looking forward to 2013 and 12 isnt even over,,, ft

One advantage (for us in Ct anyways)-you don't have drive thru NYC to get there.
Like Sherman said about going through NYC, the one thing those other pairings don't have is a major city between them. The hard core fans from New England will go to E-Town, but the majority of other fans will not bother "running the gauntlet" of going through or around NYC to go to E-Town and vise-versa. Hell I have found it easier to go to Gainesville from Boston then E-Town. I have been to Gainesville more in the past 10 years then E-Town.

This race sounds awesome, but Im willing to bet the Airfares will be Stupid High!
Sounds like another Gainesville already....

I don't find hotel rooms in Gainesville to be over priced. What would you consider to be a fair price?

People flyng in will have two choices either Manchester, NH or Boston, about an hour away. Manchester actually renamed their airport a few years back to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport to draw more people.

If they are smart-they probably should not go crazy with the number of seats. Look whats happened lately-how good the press release fodder depends on the number of seat you hype-" Bruton Smith builds new FIFTY THOUSAND SEAT drag strip-then looks foolish when 1/2 the seat are empty.
You don't think $125 per is high? I can get $50-60 everywhere else, Indy, Pomona, Houston, Chicago, Seattle!
You want cheap motels for Gainesville, you had better go to Ocala 50 miles from the track!

Just got back from the ceremony in Concord a few minutes ago, It was actually quite nice. The state of New Hampshire had some speakers that were involved in the process of seeing this event brought to fruitation.
NHRA had Tom Compton, (without the imaginary Bentley}
Tom did a very good speaking job.
The drag racers had Terry McMillin and his dragster, Great job Terry, you are indeed a funny man!!
Joe Lombardo was there to speak for New England Dragway, Good job Joe.
All in all it was very brief, All speakers were right to the point, perfect weather and above all great news for us New England fans!
PS, All funds are in place for completition of all projects left to do and not one dime came from NHRA.
