NASCAR is looking at everything going on in drag racing and they see certain areas where there could be a lot of growth in the coming years.

I think they might be on the right track but only time will tell just what is up there sleeves.
All those drifting shows seem to pack in a lot of young people and I am wonder if this could be part of what they see happening.

Jim - You got sucked in. While there was a relationship between NASCAR and NHRA back in the 60's, the article that Doug referred to was posted by the awesome Brian Lohnes on APRIL 1st !!!!! I can assure you, that there is nothing currently in the works for any joint venture between the 2 sanctioning bodies.

You might be right about that since I did not see that date. It sure made me start to think what if???

The timing is interesting when you stop to think it about because there is a large vacuum being left for some group to step into and take advantage of what I believe is happening right now in drag racing.

There are a number of events going on in drag racing that are not part of the NHRA that are very popular and while I understand the problems they have with such things as time constraints running an event this leave the door wide open for a major playing to move into drag racing.

Well I attend drag races at Texas Motor Speedway . Arm Drop in the pit area with shut down where it comes out onto the track . I thought I will drive the Vette out there on street tires no problem . Had to run a Super Snake with Headers and Drag Radials . They held a car show also . I had a lot of fun but learned a valuable lesson . D/FW has tons of Car Crazy guys and Gals with some awesome fast cars . Should have Put on the Radials and opened up the headers . I could have took those Snakes . LOL
