In my opinion, the Morgan Lucas as Crew Chief experiment was orchestrated by Forrest Lucas as a way to show young Morgan that tuning decisions are very difficult to make, and the job is best left to the experienced tuners and crew chiefs. Maybe this crew chief experience will give Morgan some insight into the incredible pressure a crew chief faces, and Morgan will have more empathy towards his crew chief in the future, and he will give him or her the time to develop a winning program.

None of you paid attention to what Virgil Hartman said. It was right there in black and white. Maybe I mis-read it or read something into what he wrote that wasn't there but it seemed clear to me. Go back and re-read what he wrote. Unless I am wrong both drivers will be in TF but will move under a different teeam umbrella. Their movement will cause a rule about team size to be broken. It's not too hard to connect the dots.

I back that. it's pretty clear when you do a re-read.

John I got that all along and I know exactly what he's saying, I for one do not believe it, no way, no how. And ok, say they do go there, team size will not be extended, I say a member may leave and drive another team's new fc addition. Sure Virgil has a better ear than we do at "the grapevine" type of info, but it doesn't mean I buy it.

Tony, I agree 100%. What better way to show him first hand it's not as easy as it looks.

the way they will or can get around the "max number of cars rule" will be if Morgan is still listed as owner. Team cars don't necessarily have to be in the same shop

Great scenario. If true I like this idea.

If dad is putting controls on the spending and making valid business decisions then I can see an alliance or a merger of some sort. I'm sure Forest is tired to spending without reward.

I agree with every part of your statement, I just do not see dsr offering up an alliance. I see it more for Kalitta or Bernstein

Surely DSR would offer up an alliance. Don is a great business man.... and Forest Lucus has the cash.

However, when I read Virgil's post, what came to my mind was a big rule change coming that will change ALL of the tune ups. We will all know shortly.

Yes, that alarmed me the most too. I hope it's not a type of spec tuneup now, people argue we have that now, I disagree, there are just alot of good crew cheifs
