I have the Roku 3 going through my 7.1 surround sound receiver to my big screen TV. Works perfectly through my Comcast 50 meg connection.

Oddly though, the ESPN broadcast of the race won't let you pause it if you have to get up and do something. Weird.
 
You might have a problem with your DNS servers. ISPs often point you at their servers which can be flaky. If you can, try changing them to Google's: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Theirs are lightning fast. If you don't know how, check with your ISP, or a smart neighbor kid, or pm me.

Or look in the thread where the folks in Australia got hosed by DNS. This continues to amaze me that it could even be a problem.
 
I had problems with this in the past. I finally tracked it down to the wireless connection between my Roku and my router. I got around the problem by using a wired connection.
