My point to the list was more than 16 drives/teams attempted to qualify at a race this year. It does not mean that many will be out in 2009 racing. But it does show that we have alot more teams out there then the top 16. Perhaps new heros will be born from the group of the "all so rans". Things are going to be hard for everyone not just "racers".

Good point. I wonder though how difficult it is to become the next hero when only racing 1-4 times a year? Although maybe knowing with less cars there is more of a guarantee to at least get something back maybe they add more races.

The prospect of short fields will probably entice some part-timers to attend a few more races. What's really going to suffer is the depth and quality of the fields. Losing cars like Herbert's, Vandergriff's, Todd's, etc. is going to take a real toll on the overall level of competition.

This picture that I took really bums me out. Next year is going to be rough; however, it is only temporary; things will eventually get better.
