Monroe Guest/Brandon Greco Crash.

Will be interesting to see if the Kosky - Greco alliance continues or will this be a short lived career in TAD for Brandon

YouTube - ‪Monroe guest and Brandon greco ta/d crash‬‏

Brandon and his Dad will be back not sure how long it will take but we have not seen the last of Brandon behind the wheel of a Top Alcohol Dragster. I have watched them for the better part of 3 years put there program together its ashame what happened. Brandon deserves to be out there.. I am thankful both drivers came out ok had to be one of the worst crashes I have seen at any of the races I have been too.

in advent of d. russell and m. niver accidents, it is lucky either driver
did not suffer injury from debris entering cockpit.
drag racing is a speed and et contest with absolutely no scenario
why two cars ever need to touch much less smash into each other.

nhra spec'd cockpit design may have saved extremity(leg) injury here?

Welllllllllllll.........yes. I filmed this low from the rear. Every vid out there is really deceiving. I will not at all argue tire issues, however, I never saw one come apart like Monroe's did. Everthing happened very quick. I can PROVE this.....that neither driver nor track was culpable. I just need help posting my video. eventually people will see......

Rex, what kind of help do you need with your vid? I'll try to help you out.

I didnt get a close enough look at the replay, but had that other car hit Monroe in the Driver's Compartment, he may needed an ambulance! That is why he is lucky!

Figured I would post that link, thought it was a bit odd people discussing the track when comp plus had a full story on the whole thing explaining what happened.

The thing is, watching the tape over and over, is that the right tire split in complete half perpendicular to rotation right in the lights.

I don't have terrific resolution with the camera, but I think the debris from the right tire exploding could have taken out the left.

I think possibly the rapid decell could have damaged the tire (positive to negative stress), but hey, don't throw me under the bus.....I'm not an ingeneeeeer.....;)

Also, JMO, Hoosier should not be exonerated here. I can also see Mondon's side. I have not seen or read enough to completely throw him under the bus.

Also, Mondon is accepting full blame, I think he made his decision based on his experience. JM .02.

how come NHRA tech didn't say anything about the tires BEFORE any runs were made? it's still the teams fault, but you can clearly see what the difference between a Hoosier and Good Year.
